Volkswagen Tiguan 2021 review
Volkswagen has revealed the facelifted Tiguan 5-seater ahead of its May launch. The facelifted Tiguan receives a host of cosmetic updates and comes with new features as well. It will be offered with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine instead of the diesel unit found in the previous model. The facelifted Tiguan will be sold alongside the larger Tiguan Allspace 7-seater.
Design
The facelifted Tiguan packs new features like matrix LED headlamps, a digital driver’s display, and 30-colour ambient lighting. It is also expected to come with connected car tech, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a wireless phone charger. Features from the pre-facelift Tiguan like the tri-zone climate control, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, panoramic sunroof, powered front seats, cruise control, and powered tailgate should be retained. Safety is covered by six airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, tyre pressure monitor, and electronic stability control.
Performance
The facelifted Tiguan will be offered with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine developing 190PS of power and 320Nm of torque, driving all four wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. This engine replaces the 2.0-litre diesel engine found in the pre-facelift Tiguan.
