Renault Kiger review
Renault India has kick started deliveries of the Kiger SUV, and has achieved an early milestone. over 1,100 units have been delivered across the country on the first day of commencement of sales. The sub-4 metre SUV is based on the CMF-A+ platform and is powered by a 72PS 1.0-litre naturally aspirated and a 100PS 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine.
Performance
The Renault Kiger is available with two petrol engines: 72PS/96Nm 1.0-litre naturally aspirated and 100PS/160Nm 1.0-litre turbo-petrol units. It comes with a standard 5-speed manual gearbox. Automatic options include an AMT for the naturally aspirated engine and a CVT for the turbo-petrol motor.
Features
The Renault Kiger features a 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Arkamys sound system, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, three drive modes: eco, normal, and sport, automatic climate control LED headlamps, and keyless entry with push-button start. A wireless phone charger and a Philips PM 2.5 AC filter are offered as optional extras. Despite a healthy feature list, the Kiger misses out on essentials such as cruise control and a sunroof. Safety is covered by four airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, traction control, ISOFIX seat mount points, hill start assist, and a rear camera with rear parking sensors.
Variants
Renault offers the Kiger in four broads variants: RXE, RXL, RXT and RXZ.It comes in six body shades: Ice Cool White, Planet Grey, Moonlight Grey, Mahogany Brown, Caspian Blue, and Radiant Red. The dual-tone variants command a premium of Rs 17,000 and gets a Mystery Black Roof.
