Honda Civic 2020 review
Honda Cars India has launched the BS6 Civic diesel with prices starting from Rs 20.75 lakh. Only the base-spec VX MT variant has received a price hike of Rs 20,000, courtesy the addition of six airbags. The BS6 Civic diesel continues to utilise Honda’s 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel engine that develops 120PS and 300Nm. It’s offered with a 6-speed manual transmission only.
Design
Design highlights include LED headlights with DRLs, fog lamps, and 17-inch alloy wheels. Inside, you get a 7-inch all-digital instrument cluster, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 8-way power-adjustable driver seat, dual-zone climate control, engine remote start, and lane watch function. Safety kit consists of ABS+EBD, brake assist, automatic brake hold, vehicle stability assist with traction control, hill start assist (HSA), six airbags, and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
Performance
The Civic is powered by a BS6-compliant 1.8-litre petrol producing 141PS of power and 174Nm of torque. This engine is only available in a CVT transmission. If you want a diesel, you can pick the updated 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel engine that develops 120PS and 300Nm. It’s offered with a 6-speed manual transmission only. The diesel engine has 120PS and 300Nm on tap, which seems a bit underwhelming. Again, inside the city there’s practically nothing you’d crib about. However, out on the highway you’d want some extra go-power.
Honda Civic Price: The new Honda Civic is expected to be priced between Rs 17,94,000- 21,25,000 lakh
